As a result of this performance, Gega left behind the German Meyer, who also had the support of the public, given that the European championship takes place in Munich. An extraordinary achievement by Gega, who also set a European record improved by almost 6 seconds. In the end, the tears of the champion were not missing.
The red and black athlete returned to her homeland the day before, where she was received in Rinas by the Minister of Education and Sports Evis Kushi and the president of KOKSH, Fidel Ylli. Albanian athlete Gega considered her achievements to be hard work and full of sacrifices, saying that she will not stop and that she is proud of the colors of the flag she represents. Wearing a gold medal, Luiza Gega said that she managed to show Europe that even Albanians can succeed.
