“Lionel Messi Cup”/ The tournament named after the “GOD OF FOOTBALL” comes to life: Inter, Chelsea, and Barcelona among the participating teams!

“Lionel Messi Cup”

The two Premier League giants , Chelsea and Manchester City , will be part of the first edition of the " Lionel Messi Cup ", an international tournament for U16 teams, which will take place in Miami from December 9 to 14.

The tournament , which is named after world football icon Lionel Messi, will feature eight elite youth teams:

Chelsea (England)

Manchester City (England)

Barcelona (Spain)

Newell's Old Boys (Argentina)

Inter Milan (Italy)

River Plate (Argentina)

Atletico Madrid (Spain)

Inter Miami (USA)

The teams will be divided into two groups of four teams, playing matches in a round robin format , while the knockout phase will be held primarily at Chase Stadium and Inter Miami 's training centers .

According to Tim Pastore, CEO of the company “525 Rosario”, which is part of Messi’s media empire, the aim of this tournament is bigger than just sporting: “ The Messi Cup is the place where today’s football and the talents of the future meet. It is an opportunity to celebrate talent, culture and community, creating legacies that will last much longer than the game itself .”

During the week of the tournament, accompanying cultural and professional activities will also take place, including an international summit at the Faena Forum , where leaders from sports, business and culture will gather, as well as the “ Messi Cup Summit Party ”, which will be held at the Pao by Paul Qui restaurant .

This event is expected to serve as a platform for promoting young talents and building bridges between continents through football, under the name of one of the greatest legends in the history of sports.
