Four goalkeepers injured/ Bayern with fifth goalkeeper against Atalanta:
Leonard Prescott

Perhaps after the 6-1 victory in the first leg they can put a chair in the goal, but Bayern Munich is practically without goalkeepers for the second leg of the 1/8 of the UEFA Champions League against Atalanta. Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich (respectively first and third in the hierarchy) are out due to injury, Jonas Urbig (second) is a big doubt and even 18-year-old Leon Klanac, the goalkeeper of the Bavarians' second team and technically fourth in the squad, has a muscle problem.

What then? Then Vincent Kompany will throw in Leonard Prescott from the first minute, the 16-year-old who usually defends the goal of the youth teams and who will make his absolute debut among the professionals against the Bergamo team.

Who is Prescott?

Born in New York City and raised in Berlin (he holds a dual German and American passport), the 196-centimeter-tall goalkeeper of the German U17 national team came to Bayern in 2023 from 1. FC Union Berlin and has been training with the first team since last May, where goalkeeping coaches Michael Rechner and Andreas Rossl highly value his reflexes in goal and his ability with the ball at his feet, to the point that the coach of the Bavarian youth team says that "technically he is so good that he can also play in midfield."

If it is his turn against Atalanta (of course he will play in goal...), in addition to making his professional debut in a Champions League round of 16 match - which does not happen to everyone - he will also enter Bayern's history, because the player born in 2009 would become the second youngest footballer in history to debut with the Bavarian club after Paul Wanner (the Austrian winger, now 20 years old, who in 2022 came on as a substitute in a Bundesliga match at the age of 16 years and 15 days).
