Evra and Rio Ferdinand in defense of Ronaldo: Why does Ten Hag not respect him?

Cristiano Ronaldo is once again at the center of controversy at Manchester United. It seemed as if the goal scored against Everton would give the right results and that the Portuguese had finally earned his place in the hierarchy of the coach Erik Ten Hag.

However, the Dutchman put him on the bench again in an important match like the one against Tottenham, and moreover, after inviting him to warm up at the end of the first half, in the second half he completely ignored the striker, not using him for a single minute.

A choice that didn't sit well with CR7 who demonstratively decided as soon as Ten Hag closed the substitutions, to leave Old Trafford in the 89th minute. After this episode, many characters sided with Ronaldo, and one of them is Patrice Evra. The former defender who played with the Lusitanian at United, emphasized that Ten Hag is not respecting Ronaldo.

"If I were in Ten Hag's place, then against Tottenham I would throw Cristiano Ronaldo on the field, even from the first minute. I heard an interview of Ten Hag after the lost match with Manchester City that he did not activate Ronaldo as a sign of respect. But, I am convinced that Ten Hag does not respect Ronaldo as much as he says, because in contrast to Tottenham, he should have activated him as a starter", said Evra.

In defense of the 37-year-old has come Rio Ferdinand, the former friend of many victories and trophies during the time when United was led by Sir Alex Ferguson.

"If Ten Hag doesn't see him as a starter, he should let Ronaldo leave the club in January. It's not fair that after every game the first question is: "Why wasn't Ronaldo the starter?" I am concerned about the fact that why he did not let United leave, if Ten Hag did not have him in his plans", declared the former defender of the "Red Devils".

United chiefs are expected to take action over the action of the Portuguese striker in the last minute of the victory over Conte's Tottenham. Ronaldo faces a fine, while Ten Hag is expected to miss the next match against Chelsea.
