Albanian sports are in mourning after the passing of renowned former footballer Albano Vaso, at the age of 56. The news comes just one year after the loss of his father, the legend of the National Team and Skënderbeg, Teodor Vaso.

Albano Vaso was a respected figure in Korçë football, where he made an important contribution to the Skënderbeg team and was known for his sporting and civic character. He enjoyed wide appreciation in the sports community.

His father, Teodor Vaso, has remained one of the most prominent names in the history of the Albanian national team. One of the most memorable moments of his career was in 1967, when he played for 30 minutes with an injured leg against the Federal Republic of Germany, a symbol of dedication and sacrifice for the red and black jersey.

The loss of two generations of this family within a year is a profound loss for Albanian football and for the city of Korça. Their memory will remain alive for generations as an example of dedication and passion for the sport.

Condolences to family, friends and the entire sports community.
