Boniek: It's a disaster for Polish football if Albania beats us
Zbigniew Boniek

Zbigniew Boniek believes that a loss for Poland to Albania in the World Cup play-offs would be a disaster for Polish football.

However, speaking to local media, he stated that Poland faces a difficult opponent.

"Losing against Albania would be a devastating blow to Polish football. None of us could have imagined it, but the opponent is truly inadequate and is currently experiencing its best moment. In the semi-finals of the World Cup play-offs, Poland is the favorite, but it will not be a formality. I do not expect an easy victory. The Albanians are unpredictable."

The Polish football legend recalls that Albania left Poland behind in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

"This is an experienced and intelligent team that beat Poland in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, and the match in Warsaw in March 2023 ended in a lucky 1-0 victory for our team."

The match between Poland and Albania will be played on March 26 in Warsaw.
