The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, organized the Presidential Merit Decorations Ceremony on Tuesday, February 18, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Independence.

During the ceremony, President Vjosa Osmani honored Gerti Bogdani with the "Dr. Ibrahim Rugova Order" for outstanding contributions to the internationalization of the Kosovo issue, membership in international organizations, as well as the advancement of peace and democracy in Kosovo and the region.

This is the highest decoration awarded by the state of Kosovo.

President Osmani presented the decoration to the Bogdani family, where both generations were present, among others - the parents who raised and loved Gerti Bogdani and his children, the youngest sucklings Ajra & Reinart Bogdani.

Gert Bogdani, former Democratic Party MP, passed away on September 18 of last year at the age of 45 from a cardiac arrest.

Gert Bogdani was engaged in the political life of the country from a young age; for several years he was the leader of the Democratic Party's Youth Forum, as well as one of the youngest members of parliament.
