Rama calls on young people: Be part of the Armed Forces, how can you apply?

Prime Minister Edi Rama calls on young men and women to apply to join the Armed Forces.

In a post on social media, Rama announces that the call has been opened and that the deadline for submitting documentation is until March 31, 2025.

For almost a year now, the Ministry of Defense has undertaken a campaign to increase the numbers of members of the Armed Forces.

General criteria for recruiting active soldiers/sailors:

– be an Albanian citizen;

– not have been convicted by a court of criminal offenses;

– not be under criminal prosecution;

– not be subject to a criminal trial by court;

– have a clean moral character;

– there should be no problems with deportation;

– not have problems with drugs and alcohol;

– not be a suspected, undesirable person, identified and implicated by law enforcement agencies for illegal or criminal activities;

– the minimum age of recruitment is 18 years. At the time of enlistment as an active soldier/sailor, they must not have reached the age of 30. The only exceptions are citizens who will be enlisted as active soldiers/sailors, who will be medical personnel of the Armed Forces, the Wind Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra and who at the time of enlistment must not have reached the age of 32;

– have completed at least 9 years of education within or outside the country;

– have a body height of over 165 cm for men and over 160 cm for women;

– to be declared the winner at the end of the competition;

– have completed a health check and been assessed as fit for active duty by the Military Medical Commission.

– to have resulted without problems during the verification of the security condition carried out by the responsible structures.

The application to the Armed Forces for active soldier/sailor is made by following the steps on the Ministry of Interior website .
