"Veliaj is dismissed", Berisha speaks after Elvis Roshi's cousin
DP leader Sali Berisha

In a press conference, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke today about the clash between Prime Minister Edi Rama and Mayor Erion Veliaj, after the latter, with a decision signed from the detention cell in Durrës, appointed Sara Goxhaj, acting mayor of Tirana.

Berisha said that the appointment of Anuela Ristani as acting president is unconstitutional.

Among other things, Berisha was also asked about the presence of his uncle's son, Elvis Roshi's cousin, former mayor of Kavaja, Elton Roshi, on the list of DP candidates in the Grand Alliance coalition.

Berisha said that "a cousin is not a sinner for a cousin". "If this...what's his name? Elton has not had any activity with Elvis. That he is related by blood cannot be an argument. He must be on the list of one of the allied parties", he said.

Regarding the appointment of Yuri Kim to the US State Department, he was asked if he would congratulate him. But Berisha said that his position has not changed. "I invite the FBI and Congress to investigate. I do not have an accurate source regarding what you say. But my position does not change," Berisha concluded.
