TIMS/ The director of SHISH, Salianji testifies behind closed doors against:
TIMS Commission

The TIMS meeting is again taking place behind closed doors, while the director of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni, is reporting. Only with the votes of the socialists was Hysen's request for a closed meeting approved with the argument that the information constitutes a secret. On the other hand, the opposition demanded an open-door meeting.

The democratic deputy accused the majority, calling them behaving like bats, while he said that by closing the meetings, they think they will throw it away. "Thank you for clarifying and calming us, Mr. Deputy Chairman. There were requests to discuss the request of SHISH. It serves the public and this institution to have open doors. The bat is blinded by the light and only comes out in the dark. As a bat let's remove the media, let's shut down here and you think we'll be able to throw it. The witnesses come and pass the ball to each other. My request is that the meeting be held with open doors," said Salianji.

At the start of the meeting, the parties were involved in a debate due to the absence of Hysen in the previous meeting on June 26, as he was in Brussels for meetings at the NATO headquarters. Hyseni himself took care to clarify the reasons for his absence, rejecting here the statements of the mayor Ervin Salianji that he was in Belgrade.

"We were unable to appear on the 26th due to a mandatory commitment confirmed months ago, related to two major reasons, the meeting with the assistant secretary general of NATO for intelligence to discuss regional security issues and to discuss the engagement of SHISH in the framework of NATO intelligence.

Another commitment was the appearance of the director of SHISH at the NATO summit in Washington, which is expected to be held on July 10. In no case did SHISH or the director avoid reporting to the commission. I request that the session be held behind closed doors, considering that issues related to national security are being discussed. To protect the classified data", said Hyseni.

"You are here today and we have nothing more to say, except from what we have seen from the documentation that we have so far in relation to the case, I do not see any element that would constitute a state secret. Given that we are dealing with only with procedural aspects and aspects that have been revealed to the public, I propose that the meeting be open, in any case where there is classified information, the director can request a meeting with closed doors", said Salianji.

On the other hand, the social deputy Xhemal Qefalia asked Salianji for a public apology for the accusation he made against Hysen, but the democratic lawmaker responded by "advising" him not to defend SHISH.

"You must start the meeting with a public apology for the causes you caused to the head of the Service by deliberately confusing her meeting place, from Brussels to Belgrade", said Qefalia.
