"I'm retired now" - Former Democratic MP tells how he was fired

Former MP and former vice-chairman of the DP, Edmond Spaho, invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, explained in detail how he was removed from the DP, after 35 years of contribution to the party. He held Sali Berisha and Flamur Noka directly responsible, whom he said acted with arrogance, especially when Berisha was under "house arrest." 

"I am now uncommitted, I am retired, I take care of my family, I fill my time with political engagement, but trying to maintain my independence from party actions."

In September 2021, Berisha opposed Basha's stance that he did not take responsibility for the loss of the 2021 elections and expelled Berisha from the parliamentary group.

The official leader of the DP was Basha and he held the responsibility. The re-establishment promised many things that it was not impossible to disagree with. 

I was critical of Basha for the territorial reform. My stance at the time, despite the fact that I had contacts with Berisha in 2013-2021 like everyone else, was against burning mandates and I told Basha, Kryemadhi, and Mediu.

Today I am convinced that Mr. Berisha also had a hand in burning the mandates and that Basha was taking Berisha's opinion, who was the shadow mayor.

Berisha expelled me from the party, and he didn't come within a day. We promised the democratization of the DP, the article for the chairman to resign, we promised primaries, based on contributions. After 35 years, I asked for these. In 2008, if you open the papers, I opposed the election of the president according to the package that was made. I said that with the powers that you gave to the prime minister, you should elect the president from the people, but Berisha rejected me.

I had reservations about the way the two halves of the DP merged and I told him that it was best to create a new parliamentary group, because we came out first. I told him that maybe we could create a new party, and I told him that we could lose 10 percent, but from 2021 when we lost by 30 thousand, after 4 years we lost by 300 thousand.

I have swallowed a lot of things. I was expelled from the Assembly for 50 days. I have not regretted these things.

I clashed sharply with Noka, because he acted arrogantly, with arrogance, especially when the Doctor was under "house arrest."

Well, I was the head of the Korça district and he didn't ask me anything. I wrote to Berisha about all of this and he took it to Flamur.

The doctor told me we didn't remove it, because they fired me from the Korça district administration. The next day, Flamur told me that since Ivi comes from a town near Korça, we thought about him.

Berisha told me to guarantee that I would be an MP and I continued with that pace of work. In the primary I came second in the parliamentary group. They gave us the task that if we didn't find 300 immigrants, we wouldn't run. I found 400. 

Our task was to identify right-wing voters and have them register. And I ended up on the open list. I met the Doctor again and I have been at "Rruga e Shpresës" for 1 year in a row. He told me that you might be right, but that's how we decided. Noka and Kaso told the structures not to vote for me," said Spaho.
