Democrats will head to the polls today to elect the president to lead them for the next four years.
This year there will be no elections within the Democrats, because only Sali Berisha is in the race, who calls the May 23 process a referendum for the president.
Elections today will take place from 8 am to 6 pm in all Democratic branches in the districts.
This year, unlike recent electoral processes, votes will be counted at branches and not at headquarters.
Berisha called on members of the political force he leads to participate massively in the voting process for the vote of confidence of the president and described this process as one of the most advanced forms of internal party democracy and a testament to the democratic functioning within the DP.
"I invite all members of the DP to, in an act of responsibility, in an act of appreciation for their resistance and their positions, to vote tomorrow in complete freedom," Berisha declared.
We recall that during the pre-election period, the DP Election Commission excluded candidates such as Evi Kokalari, Ervin Salianji, Alesia Balliu, Mereme Sela and Vladimir Mulaj , who sought to enter the race against Berisha.
