"We will close negotiations with the EU within a year and a half" -

"Negotiations with the European Union will be concluded within a year and a half."

This was stated by Prime Minister Edi Rama from Tokyo, during his speech at the United Nations University.

"We have entered the decisive phase of our journey to the EU. Next week we have a key intergovernmental conference with the European Union that kicks off a new phase of closing chapters and concluding negotiations within a year and a half," said Rama.

"The road ahead remains challenging, but we have never been more determined, nor have we imagined a plan B other than the European Union, because we are convinced that there is no plan B against freedom, the rule of law, and democracy."

"EU membership is exactly that, it's not about joining an organization, it's about transforming society from within."
