In a statement to the media outside the Parliament, DP leader Sali Berisha commented on the situation at Vlora Airport. According to Berisha, this situation is unacceptable and reflects the direct intervention of Prime Minister Edi Rama, which, according to him, could cost Albania a fine of at least half a billion euros.
Berisha stressed that the conflict between investment partners cannot be resolved by the state in this way, harming the main investor and violating the public interest, while the government has pre-determined contracts for payments reaching 130 million euros for missing tickets over 13 years.
Sali Berisha: What is happening at the Vlora airport. I am not taking sides with any party, because other institutions should evaluate it.
But I can only guarantee you one thing: the way Edi Rama is acting, according to the data I have, will result in a fine of no less than half a billion euros against Albania. At Vlora airport, there may be disagreements between partners.
But the state's intervention against the main investor constitutes a terribly serious act and gives him the right to compensation that could reach at least 500 million euros. All this is done for this reason.
Question: Who is hiding behind this, Mr. Berisha?
Sali Beisha: Edi Rama. No one else can guarantee that. If he is prime minister, he can never do it. This is only Edi Rama's.
Question: So, does Edi Rama trust Mr. Pacolli?
Sali Berisha: But where does Edi Rama trust? I'm listening. That's not the time to trust him, it's not about trust, but the problem is here. There is a public interest. But why is Edi Rama interfering? Because he is a shareholder. It's a contract, I've told them, I've denounced them several times.
Where is the issue now? The issue is a 130 million euro contract. According to the unprecedented, unprecedented contract, the Albanian government pays the company every year, for 13 years, 10 million euros in missing tickets.
Because to steal this they had to say that this is the largest airport in the Balkans. Do you understand? They have no face, these people, and now, men, we have to drive this away so that we can get the 10 million a year. That's how it is.
If it were fair, neither the police nor the brigands would be sent. But the parties, the partners, would resolve it at all levels of the judiciary. But Edi Rama, with the acts he has committed and with the kidnapping he is making according to the documents of the de facto owner of the works, the author of the works, assumes the heaviest fine that the Albanian state has received to date.
And this is just to loot 130 million euros that he signed with his black hand in violation of all criteria, missing tickets.
