Prime Minister Edi Rama has promised the white shirts that their salary will increase by 100% until the end of this mandate compared to the amount they received before the SP government.
The head of the government made this statement at the reception organized on the occasion of the end of the year holidays for doctors and nurses. Rama admitted that in the ranks of the white shirts there are also unworthy people.
"Certainly, there are cases when even in white shirts there are unworthy individuals, but these are not the rule, but exceptions that reinforce the rule that in our health system, in the first place, the entire volume of the source of healing diseases, it is to the credit of the doctors and the whole team that it is available 24 hours a day to all the people who need this support. We have tried to express this respect by increasing the quality of the conditions in which you work. Today, at least in my eyes, these conditions are much better than before, with equipment and tools of ever better quality and on the other hand to increase your reward. We know very well that despite the fact that salaries have increased by 70% compared to the starting point, it is not enough and we must increase again so that at least within this mandate we have increased the salaries by 100%. Be sure that we will do this because you deserve even more than that"- said Rama.
Despite the departure from the country of white shirts, Rama said that within this year alone, around 900 nurses and 335 doctors were hired in the country's public hospitals and that the trend to hire young professionals would continue.
"Despite a trend that is also among our white shirts, as it is in many countries of the south of Europe, to leave, we had the opportunity to employ about 5 thousand nurses in our hospitals. There are over 900 new employees in the system this year alone, just like there are 1320 doctors employed in this period and 335 during this year" - said the Prime Minister.
