Prime Minister Edi Rama has confirmed the cancellation of the joint meeting between the governments of Albania and Kosovo, which was planned to be held the next day in Gjakovë.

Starting from the tense situation in the north of Kosovo, Rama informed Albin Kurti to hold a closer meeting, only with the Foreign Ministers, but the Prime Minister of Kosovo did not accept.

Rama declared that the West is ready to put in motion a plan of austerity measures for Kosovo, as they are running out of patience, but the head of the Albanian government has asked them for some time.

Edi Rama: This meeting cannot be held in the anticipated format, and after speaking in the afternoon with the head of European diplomacy, Borrell, I asked Albini to meet tomorrow in Gjakova in a narrower format, only with the Foreign Ministers. to discuss this situation, which is dramatically dividing Kosovo with the Euro-Atlantic municipality to an unimaginable point where the latter has put its finger on the button that will set the sanctions plan in motion.

Unfortunately, I have to say that we did not agree with Kurt on a change of format, he asked that the meeting be held normally and then we can discuss about this, but this is not possible because it is not a moment to create a false picture of what actually happens in the reality of Kosovo.

To be able to meet to confront opinions in the conditions when, I repeat, we are on the verge of setting in motion the plan of austerity measures against a state that was created by those who are clearly in the conditions of patience.

I made an effort to ask you and some time, I took some time, but if we do not use this time for a common sense among everyone, I am very afraid that the plan, which is a really heavy plan for Kosovo , will be set in motion.
