The Prime Minister, Edi Rama, present at the Security conference in Munich, discussing in the panel on, " The Western Balkans and current issues, the common perspective and the future of global security in a time of challenges ", asked about the dialogue Kosovo- Serbia, said that official Prishtina should do its part and let the EU and the US deal with Serbia.
According to Rama, it is very important for Kosovo to understand that it is not alone, but is with the EU and the USA and must do its part in the Franco-German plan, regardless of the actions taken by Serbia.
Rama said that Vucic was wrong when he declared a state of mourning for what happened in Banjska.
"I believe that there is an essential thing that should not be forgotten, especially from our side. So from the side of the countries that have made the choice, because nobody has honestly forced us to decide where to position ourselves.
Albanians in particular have not had the chance to choose for centuries and the first day they could shout what they wanted, they said "We love Albania like all of Europe", this was the slogan, said Rama.
" No, now we want Europe like Albania, but that is another topic. We have chosen. For me, this is never an excuse for not doing homework, if someone else did things that are certainly not part of or within the world that we want, and where we want to live and that of course are against our choice.
"Serbia really disrupted the work not on the day Banjska happened, but the next day, when President Vučić declared a day of mourning for those who carried out the attack ," said Rama.
" However, we should not forget what the objectives are, and where Kosovo should stand. This should not be forgotten. I mean what needs to be said. Kosovo is not negotiating with Serbia, but is negotiating with the EU and the US, as we are negotiating with the EU.
What I mean is that there is a Franco-German plan, which is quite clear, there are things that one side has to do, and things that the other side has to do.
Why should Kosovo go to Brussels, while I take its side, sign 1, 2, 3, 4 or five things, do its part and let them deal with the other side. It is not an excuse not to do things when the other party behaves badly", added Rama.
" Because in this context, it has nothing to do with Kosovo and Serbia, but something that happens in a framework where the EU and the USA are.
Serbia, with all the progress it has made, is not a reference country, to say that they are doing this, that the other and why not. You did your part.
We in Albania, and all of us here, don't like all the things we do, but we have to do them to be together in this community.
Sometimes when they make the decision, which doesn't seem fair to me, it's not up to us to do something wrong in this case, we have to stay together ", said Rama.
The head of government also recalled Blinken's expression in Tirana.
" As Secretary Blinken said: We stand by each other in good times and bad, in good times and in hard times. This is also my approach. We have neighbors who are in the EU.
And they must not forget that when they deal with us, they must also take into account the neighborhood relations, they have one more obligation to represent what the EU represents in the neighborhood relations as well. The same for us, for Kosovo and Serbia. Serbia must decide.
But, Kosovo has nothing to decide, it has been decided, it is a country without a doubt in this community with the EU and the USA ", he underlined.
