The Peace Forum is being held today in Paris, where Prime Minister Edi Rama is also participating.

At the beginning of his speech, the Albanian Prime Minister did not hesitate to make a joke with the French President Emmanuel Macron.

"You are brave to set a time limit and invite people from Latin America, Africa and the Balkans. Now I understand why Putin wants to hug you. Hats off to you for this," said Rama.

Furthermore, the head of the Albanian Government has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin can cause problems in the Balkans, as he stopped at the issue of Kosovo and Serbia, saying that the final peace between these two countries is still unresolved.

Also, Rama said that he saw the help of China, Russia and Turkey, asking for more complete mobilization in the future.

"In an effort to save time for other distinguished friends here, I want to move on to another topic related to this topic. But it is important in this time when we respond to great tragedies. It is related to the idea of the European political community that was put back on the table by Macron, but it is not something entirely new. It's an idea rooted in France. This is to say that this is the only way to have peace. The project didn't go very well but it kept repeating itself as a vision.

Then we had the European Union and so on. When the idea was brought up again for discussion by our host many countries thought they were to escape the call to enlarge the European Union. As time goes by this proves to be a great idea. We saw it unfold right after the war started. After experiencing the pandemic that proved to us that the absence of this connecting bridge can create distance. It can cause tragedies of division between the rich and the poor.

We saw the EU behave like a federation of rich and selfish countries that, faced with the fear of death, shied away from their responsibilities to share vaccines with others. For a long time we heard the motto that we should work with the EU. what happened Without China, Russia and Turkey, we would not have survived the first wave of the pandemic. The basins did not come from the EU but from these countries. This has started and I have a lot of hope that this will take us further and there will be the right way to articulate them. I want to conclude by saying that we are faced with a painful paradox because we have to face food crisis, terrorism, immigration and war that do not allow us to face the former.

Finding a balance between the two is important. The Balkans have so far managed to stay away from conventional war, being the weakest link in the chain. If we talk about the European political community, we know very well that in the Balkans Russia has potential influence and can cause the greatest damage due to historical divisions. We have the issue of final peace between Serbia and Kosovo. It is important to see that the Balkans are united. Our countries act the same way in the United Nations. So I want to say that we are in the right direction. It is not easy, it is very painful", said Rama.
