The Socialist majority has decided not to make public the names proposed by the Parliamentary Group for the post of the new head of state. This is due to the fact that it is in negotiations with the opposition, before which it has taken the decision not to go to the table with concrete names.
But sources for the newspaper "Panorama", confirm that among the names are: that of Servet Pellumbi, Edi Rama, Gramoz Ruçi, Mimi Kodheli, Namik Dokles, Fatmir Xhafajt, Lindita Nikolla, Valentina Leskaj, Fatos Nanos, Ulsi Manja, Vasilika Hysi, Luljeta Bozo, Anastas Angjeli, Arta Dade, Shkelqim Cani, Ylli Bufi, Musa Ulqini etc. It is learned that there are 67 names that have been submitted and will be reviewed by the three negotiators mandated by Edi Rama for this process: Taulant Balla, Elisa Spiropali and Damian Gjiknuri.
Of all the names proposed by Socialist Party MPs for the new President, only 67 have been selected by the negotiating team for further discussion among the majority itself, other parliamentary groups and civil society.
Also, sources within the SP Parliamentary Group suggest that the new President will not be from the ranks of the socialist majority and that an attempt will be made for a consensual President to obtain the consent of the opposition.
