Manja responds to the Supreme Court: Rama is not attacking judges! You cannot
Sit down Manja

The long-distance clash between Prime Minister Edi Rama and the High Judicial Council following the head of government's criticism of judges also includes Justice Minister Ulsi Manja. The latter responds to the Supreme Judicial Council's statement, which sees Rama's criticism as undermining the independence of the judiciary.

In a long post on social media, Minister Manja says that Rama "is not attacking anyone, on the contrary, he is calling everyone to fight against illegality."

"How can someone who stands up for the law be accused of being an intimidator? How can it be called a violation of justice when you simply say: don't prevent us from cleaning the country from illegal construction and any other illegality?", asks the minister.

There is no clash between Rama and justice, says the minister, adding that the European Union is not a country of roundabouts, but a country of rules.

Full statement:

Justice does not arise from injustice: the battle for territory and European Albania!

From the moment the demolition of illegal buildings in Theth began, many thought this was a summer whim of Edi Rama. A political game, a maneuver to distract the public from the topics of the day or current political events.

But time is showing, and will show until the end, that it is neither this nor that. This is a battle of vision. A battle that is directly related to Albania's 2030 horizon in the European Union.

Because it's quite simple. And Albanians who have lived and worked in EU countries for decades know this better than anyone: you don't enter Europe with unauthorized construction, with kiosks and metal tents that occupy public space, that block the entrances to buildings, with meat shops on the sidewalks, with terraces of buildings turned into gardens or illegal orchards, with builders who sell the same apartment three times, with butchers who slaughter cattle behind their shops in the middle of the city, with car cemeteries, with abandoned fuel tanks on the side of every national road, with garbage that is thrown here and there in every corner of Albania, without even asking about environmental pollution or ruining the tourism image. In short, you don't enter the EU with a round state, but with a state of rules, responsible institutions and the rule of law.

Therefore, all those “public mourners” who try to present this operation as a personal conflict between the prime minister and the citizens, between the government and the judiciary, or as political revenge against individuals and businesses, do nothing but poison the public. In fact, they are the merchants of lawlessness, who want to keep the chaos alive, because that is where they find their political and economic oxygen. The truth is quite different: in the territory today, two sides and only two are clashing — public interest and lawlessness turned into mentality.

In this battle, Edi Rama has a popular mandate to be on the side of the common good. And in this battle he has invited everyone: the prosecution, the judiciary, every citizen who believes that there is no European Albania on the foundations of chaos. He is not attacking anyone; on the contrary, he is calling everyone to fight against illegality. Because an unauthorized construction is illegal even on your property, no longer on common land or on someone else's property.

How, then, can someone who stands up for the law be accused of being an intimidator? How can it be called a violation of justice when you simply say: don't prevent us from cleaning the country from illegal construction and all other kinds of illegality?

Since ancient Rome, we have inherited an iron postulate: “Ex iniuria ius non oritur” – from injustice no right arises. And this is the essence: an illegal thing, a stolen property, an unauthorized construction, can never become legal, never yours.

Therefore, if there is a clash today, it is not Rama against justice, nor Rama against the citizens, but good against evil. And in this battle, the fourth mandate is a pledge to establish control over the territory by any legal means, to end chaos and pollution — not only in public spaces, but also in the mentality of those who still think they are above the law.

It's that simple!

And today, more than ever, this is not just the government's battle. It is the battle of every citizen who wants to live in a normal country, in a civilized Albania, equal to Europe. Who defends lawlessness, defends backwardness. Who stands up for the law, stands up for the future. The Albania of 2030 is not built on a roundabout, but on justice, rules and respect for the public interest.
