The lack of a solution to the outstanding issues between the two countries is negatively affecting the diplomatic relations between Albania and Greece, which have returned to attention once again after the meeting of Minister Olta Xhaçka and her Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias.

Former diplomat Pëllumb Xhufi, also a historian, told Ora News that relations between the two countries have remained in place due to the lack of solution to these problems.

"After that, there will be a greater commitment from both sides to reach a solution to these problems that are not without impact on the pending progress of Albanian-Greek relations."

Academician Xhufi emphasized the discussions of the law of war and the Cham issue.

"They have been laid out and discussed for years. Even for decades, but so far we still do not have a solution."

As for the confrontation in The Hague over the maritime border, he has his reservations.

"We are talking about the sea border at a time when there is still no agreement on the land border between Greece and Albania because the Greek side has so far refused to sign two framework agreements which legalize the mutual recognition of borders."

Although they are issues of national importance, it is not known when they will be resolved and how fruitful they will be.
