The chairman of the Bindja Demokratike Party, Fabian Topollaj, has described Ilir Meta's party as clientelistic.

Topollaj says that the Socialist Movement for Integration, today the Freedom Party, had the opportunity to play the role of a party that could maintain balance in the country, but did the opposite.

"Mr. Meta's party has carried the stamp of a clientelist party in Albania, which, despite having the opportunity to play the role of a party that maintained the balances, rather destroyed them than preserved them. It was a clientelistic party that used power to enrich itself and through enrichment could invest to take power from scratch.

From this concept, we have nothing to do with how Mr. Meta's party works. But the same can be said about the Democratic Party, which today is in trouble. A large political party which has split into two large factions. With this type of model, we have no connection with either party" , he emphasized in an interview for Euronews Albania.

Democratic Persuasion will compete alone in the local elections that will take place on May 14, 2023.
