The Constitutional Court rejected today the request filed by a group of democratic deputies to suspend the arrest of Sali Berisha.
30 MPs of "Re-establishment" claimed that the measure taken against Sali Berisha, "obligation to appear", on October 20, is unconstitutional and was taken without prior authorization from the Assembly.
But the Constitutional Court did not legitimize the request of the group of deputies, arguing that their interests were not directly violated.
Meanwhile, the decision states that Berisha can personally appeal to the Constitutional Court after completing all judicial steps.
The next day, in the plenary session, the removal of Berisha's immunity is expected to be voted on, paving the way for SPAK's request to impose the "house arrest" measure against him.
The change in the measure comes after Berisha violated the "obligation to appear" measure twice.
