The head of the DP Group, Gazment Bardhi , and MP Jorida Tabaku have met with the director of the American Democratic Institute,  Robert Benjamin.

"The role that NDI has played in our country has been a great help to increase good parliamentary practices, accountability and transparency in the activity of the Assembly", says Bardhi.

He emphasized that he informed Robert Benjamin about "the political developments in the country, the obstacles that Edi Rama is making to the timely realization of the Electoral Reform, the anti-democratic attempt to destroy the opposition, as well as the corrupt practices that have accompanied the government of Edi Rama in these 11 years" .

Bardhi added that during the conversation he emphasized the determination of the opposition for a real fight against corruption and organized crime, adding that it is the only possibility to restore the governance in the interest of the citizens.

The pleasure that together with my colleague Jorida Tabaku met the Director for Central and Eastern Europe of the American Democratic Institute NDI, Mr. Robert Benjamin. The role that NDI has played in our country has been a great help to increase good parliamentary practices, accountability and transparency in the activities of the Assembly.

I informed him about the political developments in the country, the obstacles that Edi Rama is making to the timely implementation of the Electoral Reform, the anti-democratic attempt to eliminate the opposition, as well as the corrupt practices that have accompanied the government of Edi Rama in these 11 years.

I expressed the determination of the opposition for a real war against corruption and organized crime, as the only possibility to restore the governance in the interest of the citizens.

Albania, as a member of NATO, must uphold the standards of a democratic country and work resolutely to become part of the European Union. The support of the USA in this direction has been and continues to be always welcome, as our strategic partner and which fails to see Albania as a member country in the EU.
