On January 17, a preliminary hearing will be held for Arben Ahmatej regarding the accusations regarding the privatization of the company "Buka sh.a".

The former Minister of Finance is accused of abuse of office in the criminal proceedings known as the "Buka" file, the privatization of the former Buka factory, where the "Emerald" complex is now located on "5 Maji" street in Tirana, in the "Madrese" area. .

A procedure that is suspected to have been carried out in an illegal manner and is estimated to have caused the state a loss of 7 billion old lek.

According to the SPAK document, everything is related to the 2015 auction for the privatization of 45.9 percent of the company's shares, where the land of 7,680 m2 was known to the owners, while 6,370 m2 was a building. For the case, the Special Prosecutor's Office has also submitted to the court wiretapping of mobile numbers and telephone communications between the parties included in the file.

The accusation even adds that through conversations between Minister Ahmetaj and the winner of the factory auction there were communications from 2014, 2019 and 2020, adding that this confirms the recognition between the parties. While in the documents submitted by the land owners, it is stated that the value of the land is estimated at 4.73 percent of the shares in total, claiming that with independent expertise their value should have been 26.17 percent, which causes a damage of 175 million ALL .

The former number two of Edi Rama's government during the third half of Edi Rama's term is currently under international investigation, accused by SPAK of corruption, money laundering and concealment of wealth, in a criminal proceeding initiated as part of the file of "Incinerators".
