"I don't see my future in the United States." This is what Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk's transgender daughter, said, who said she wanted to leave the country after Donald Trump's victory in the presidential elections.
"I have thought about this for a long time, but yesterday he confirmed it to me. I don't see my future in the United States. Even if he only stays in office for 4 years, even if the anti-trans regulations aren't magically enforced, the people who voted him in voluntarily aren't going anywhere anytime soon,” Wilson wrote in Threads on Wednesday after Trump's victory.
Anti-trans mogul Trump has repeatedly spoken out against trans people, announcing that once he became president, he would place restrictions on hormone therapy. It would also bar transgender women from competing with women's sports teams, mandating access to teams that match their birth gender.
Elon Musk supported Trump, including financially, in his bid for the White House.
In 2022, Vivian filed a petition with the state of California to change her gender as well as her last name, stating in court that she hoped it would sever all ties between her and her biological father.
Now, it wants to cut ties with the US after Trump's re-election. Her father was an outspoken supporter of the President-elect's successful campaign.
Wilson, who is one of six children Musk shares with his first wife, Justine Wilson, previously accused her famous father of being an absentee parent who did not accept her transition.
Musk blamed "neo-Marxists" at elite private schools and universities for his estranged relationship with his daughter.
In a conversation with biographer Walter Isaacson, Musk claimed that the chi-chi Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica infected Wilson with the "smart mind virus."
