She was starting to lose hope. For two days, Roo's owner searched everywhere for her newly adopted pet, unaware that he was trapped in one of the most dangerous places imaginable – inside a railway tunnel where trains were constantly passing.

Roo, a two-year-old pit bull, had only recently been adopted. He was still not used to his new surroundings and, frightened by noises, ran away from home. His owner immediately began searching, but all trace of him seemed to have been lost.

The drama took an even more serious turn when train conductors reported seeing a dog lying motionless on the tracks.

Because of its position, many thought the animal had died after being hit by a train.

However, a day later, a conductor noticed a slight movement. Roo was still alive.

A rescue operation was immediately organized. Railway employees, police officers and animal control specialists entered the tunnel on foot with flashlights, carefully walking along the tracks. After several minutes of searching, they found the dog huddled near one of the tracks.

At first, Roo was terrified. He refused to approach anyone and was trembling with fear. But as soon as one of the officers carefully put the safety rope on him, he seemed to understand that people had come to help him. He stood up and began to calmly follow them towards the exit from the tunnel. The footage later published shows the touching moment when the dog emerges from the light after two days isolated in the dark.

After his rescue, Roo was immediately taken to the vet. Surprisingly, despite spending two days in very difficult conditions and under constant danger from trains, he had not suffered any serious injuries. The doctors only noted fatigue and mild dehydration.

Thanks to the microchip he was carrying, authorities were able to immediately contact his owner. The meeting between them was emotional. The woman, who had not stopped looking for her pet for two days, hugged him with tears in her eyes, while Roo wagged his tail incessantly, as if realizing that the nightmare was over.

Animal control officers used Roo's story to remind people of the importance of microchipping, especially for newly adopted animals. They say the first few weeks after adoption are the most delicate, as many dogs, stressed by the change in environment, may run away if they are frightened.

Roo's story quickly spread on social media and became a symbol of hope. It showed that even when all seems lost, people's perseverance and a dose of luck can bring a happy ending.
