Singer Selena Gomez caused a bit of internet drama in June when she suddenly unfollowed singer Zayn Malik, who she was rumored to be dating in the spring, his ex-girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid, and her sister Bella Hadid, as well as actress Zendaya and singer Dua Lipa.
In her new interview with Fast Company, Gomez revealed that her unfollowing Lipa was not intentional. In fact, Gomez followed Lipa and Zendaya again, but not the Hadid sisters and singer Malik.
Speaking specifically about Dua, she said that "it was an accident", while laughingly adding that "while clearing her list of people I follow, someone called her to ask why Dua Lipa disappeared from said list ".
To put an end to the rumors Selena wore a dress from the collaboration of Versace and Dua Lipa at a beauty event.
Gomez posted images of the outfit in question on Instagram, captioning the post – “A little Versace/Dua moment,” and Lipa commented, “angel” – further proof that all was well between them.
She also talked about her upcoming album in the wide-ranging interview, in addition to how heartbreak influenced her decision to leave Instagram in 2018.
With her new music, in particular, happy songs are coming, she said, emphasizing that the album will not have any ballads.
"I love sad girl music, I'm really good at it," she admitted.
"However, I cannot write this unless I am sad. I had to relearn what it looked like to be me and be happy. There is not a single sad song on this entire album," she added.
However, Selena emphasized that she is known for her straightforward character with her fans.
"I never promised anyone that I would never have a bad day again. I have always been honest with my fans. Even when I take a break from social media, I'll say I'm taking a break," she concluded.
