Happiness index, places worth living. Albanians are more unhappy than a year ago

The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network has published a list of the happiest and unhappiest countries on the planet, where Finland ranks first for the seventh year in a row. While Afghanistan ranks at the bottom of the list, thus becoming the unhappiest country in the world.

10 European countries are in the top ten happiest countries, with Denmark in second place on the list of 140 countries and Iceland in third. In the top ten we also find Sweden, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Australia.

Britain appears to have fallen in the rankings, which was in 20th place behind countries such as Lithuania or the Czech Republic, as well as the USA, which fell eight places compared to 2023 (23rd this year – the 15th in 2023). According to the announcement, Albania is in 87th place this year, falling 5 places compared to 2023 when it was in 83rd place on the list. Thus, Kosovo is in the 29th place, while a year ago it was ranked in the 34th place.

Researchers who analyzed the findings also found that those born before 1965 are happier than those born after 1980, with millennials' happiness estimated to decline each year, instead increasing over the years from the satisfaction of newcomers.
