Recently released photos show Diddy and his then-partner Jennifer Lopez arguing on a night when the musician is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to a DailyMail report, the photos are from a party held at his residence after the MTV VMAs in 2000. At the time, Sean Combs and the Latina star were dating. Their relationship lasted two years, from 1999 to 2001.
The photos were taken at the now-closed Lotus nightclub on September 7, 2000, the same night Diddy is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl in front of two yet-to-be-announced celebrities.
A source who was present at the pair's fight that night spoke to the DailyMail and reported:
“Diddy had a bottle of champagne and was serving his guests all night. Everyone was dancing and having fun, but as the night went on, the tension between him and Lopez grew."
It is not known why they fought, but as the same source says, the tension between them was visible and had affected the entire company.
“After hours of arguing, Diddy decided it was time to leave the party. He picked up Lopez and their entourage, including the girls who were at the party, and they all left together," the source said.
The resurgence of these photos comes at a time when Diddy is facing serious charges of sexually assaulting a minor that night.
According to the lawsuit, the incident took place at a home away from the club, but the timing adds a disturbing dimension to the events of that night. Jennifer Lopez is not named in the lawsuit. The couple continued their relationship for another five months before separating for good in February 2001.
In the lawsuit, Diddy is accused of raping the 13-year-old girl along with two other celebrities at the MTV Video Music Awards afterparty that night.
The now 37-year-old woman filed a lawsuit against Combs in New York federal court on Sunday (10/20), in which she claims the incident happened when she went to an empty bedroom to lie down for a while because felt "dizzy" from a drink he had during the party on September 7, 2000.
"Soon after, Combs, along with a celebrity husband and wife, entered the room," according to the 19-page filing, obtained by Deadline. "Combs aggressively approached the plaintiff with a crazy look in his eyes, grabbed her and said, 'You're ready to party!'
