Switzerland lifts Covid restrictions on entry into the country

Travelers from abroad will soon be able to enter Switzerland or reapply for a visa, subject to pre-pandemic conditions.

On May 2, the last entry restrictions, imposed two years ago, due to the coronavirus, will be lifted.

Thus, according to an announcement on twitter made on Thursday evening by the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM), starting from Monday, May 2, the normal criteria for travel to Switzerland will be applied again.

However, a number of countries outside the Schengen area and Europe are still listed as countries at risk from SEM.

Not all foreigners who want to leave these countries to stay in Switzerland for up to three months without a permit can do so at the moment. This applies, for example, to tourists and people looking for a job.
