The suspect for the murder of the 67-year-old woman in Dragash, Kosovo, has admitted that she committed the murder using various strong tools.

The Kosovo Police has announced that the suspect for the murder of the elderly woman in Dragash on the morning of Monday, December 26, has admitted that she committed the murder of the 67-year-old woman in Dragash.

According to the police, she did this by using various strong tools, which she then hid.

Regarding this case, the Regional Department of Investigations from the Regional Directorate of Police in Prizren has said that they will undertake all necessary further actions.

On 26.12.2022, at 05:00, the police received information that a 67-year-old woman (SD) died in the village of Kuk, KK Dragash. The lifeless body was found in her house in the village of Kuk.

Since the same has previously reported a case of domestic violence and based on the complaint of a citizen, by the investigating policemen from the Investigations Department of the Dragash Police Station, in consultation with the prosecutor and then by order of the guardian prosecutor, decides that the victim should be sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for examination by specialist doctors to determine the cause of death.

At 12:30, the doctor in charge of the Brodosan Medical Center, after the initial check and examination at the scene, noticed that there were suspected signs of violence in the body of the deceased. In order to clarify the cause of death, the police opened a "suspicious death" case.

After conducting the forensic examination by the Institute of Forensic Medicine, the Regional Department of Investigations, by order of the prosecutor, re-interviewed the victim's sister-in-law, suspect N. A, born in 1958.

After being confronted with new evidence, the suspect, in the presence of the defense lawyer, admitted that he had committed the murder. He did this action using various strong tools, which he then hid. New evidence has been seized from the forensics unit. By order of the Prosecutor in the case, the suspect is kept in police custody for 48 hours.

The criminal offense has been reclassified as "Aggravated murder".

The Regional Department of Investigations from the Regional Directorate of Police in Prizren will undertake all further necessary actions in cooperation with the prosecutor of the case.

Otherwise, the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Prizren announced on Tuesday that it has arrested the suspect for the death of the 67-year-old woman in the village of Kuk in Dragash.
