Miloš Pljeskovi? has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Basic Court in Pristina, after being found guilty of war crimes against the civilian population during the recent war in Kosovo.
Pljeskovi? was part of an armed group of Serbs who in 1999 participated in the killing and wounding of Albanian civilians in Prizren.
According to the indictment, the defendant opened fire with a Kalashnikov-type automatic weapon, causing the deaths of three Albanian civilians, Reshat Daci, Binak Daci and Fatmir Bojaxhiu, and the injury of Xhenger Cana, Fevzi Cana and Bashkim Kastrati.
The prosecution's file states that the bodies of the victims were returned to their families only a week after the murder. Two of them were placed on top of each other, one with a severed leg, while another was found without a head.
Pljeskovi? is currently in custody, while the execution of the sentence will take place after the verdict enters into force, within a 15-day period.
