Turkey provides security guarantees to Kosovo in the face of threats that may appear in the region. This message was brought to Pristina by the Foreign Minister of Ankara, Hakan Fidan, who was received by the counterpart, Donika Gërvalla.
The latter, at the press conference, accused Serbia of being behind the efforts to destabilize Kosovo.
"We see Serbia as a real danger for regional stability. The threats to block the border points today are only an increased evidence of hegemonic intentions and concrete destabilizing actions of Serbia. The sovereignty of Kosovo is not debatable. We are determined to continue to maintain peace in Kosovo in cooperation with our strategic partners, including Turkey, " said Gërvalla.
Minister Fidan expressed Ankara's readiness to take a role in the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue.
He did not give many details about the signed agreement in the field of security, but underlined that there is nothing more natural than Turkey's support for Kosovo.
"We as Turkey must be ready to help in all aspects of security. For us there is nothing more normal than to support Kosovo, this will continue in many other areas. Kosovars are not only our friends, but also our brothers and sisters. To enrich the strong bonds between us in our bilateral relations in the best possible way. Our goal is to bring a comprehensive strategic vision. We consider security, politics, the economy the three main pillars of our cooperation" , said Fidan.
Gërvalla considered unacceptable the partial and incomplete withdrawal by Serbia of the letter sent to the European Union rejecting the agreement on the normalization of relations and the Ohrid annex.
Meanwhile, during his stay in Pristina, the foreign minister of Turkey met with President Vjosa Osmani, as well as with Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
