From his tour in Podrinje, Aleksandër Vucic stopped this Friday to talk about the invitation that Vladimir Puti gave him to join the BRICS summit, which takes place in Kazan in October.
Answering the journalists' questions, Vucic tried to clarify that he neither rejected nor accepted the Russian president's invitation, saying: "We will see."
"We will make a decision on this between October 10 and 15, but not before. There is no doubt that an important call has come. As we previously planned more important visits. I neither want to reject nor accept anything, we have a very busy agenda" , said the Serbian President.
The leader of Belgrade warned that he will hold important meetings in the near future, while he was harsh in his criticism of those who, according to him, rushed to state that Vucic rejected Putin's invitation.
"I heard some who said that I refused something, and others who said that I accepted something. Both are lies. I said we'll see. I said there are pre-arranged visits. And after that I said we'll see. I will leave it to both of these parties who have never understood what sovereign politics is to attack me. I have also seen Roth's statement and many others. That is exactly the point. I am proud that Serbia leads an independent policy and that no one else will decide for me where, when and how and with whom I will meet. I am proud of our policy and I believe that it is something that will bring results in the future, I think it has brought important results so far" , said Vucic.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day in Podrinje, Vucic had a meeting with Russian ambassador Bocan Harchenko.
"We discussed all the important issues of bilateral importance for our two countries. I introduced the ambassador to the situation in Kosovo and the daily brutal provocations, the daily threats to peace and stability. For the ineffective reaction of all those who were involved in the dialogue and who were supposed to guarantee the results of that dialogue. I said that the Serbian people are in a difficult position and it seems to me that we have found understanding on this issue from the Russian side ," Vucic declared.
Furthermore, the leader of Belgrade explained that the invitation that was sent to Serbia for the BRICS summit was also discussed at the meeting.
"Recently, I received the list of participants, which I must admit is not only big, but also with strong and important places. I have already told the ambassador everything I told you, thanking him for the invitation and we will continue those talks with President Putin ", he underlined.
