Three new oil fields and two gas wells in Arabia, this is the latest discovery

Saudi Arabia, the country with the second largest reserves of crude oil in the world and the most important exporter of oil, has announced the discovery of many new large fields! The country increases its already replenished reserves even more. These reserves are currently over 260,000 million barrels of crude oil. On the other hand, four natural gas fields have been found in one of the largest sand deserts in the world, Rub al-Jali.

The new fields were discovered by Saudi Arabia's oil company Aramco, the most important in the world, in the east and southeast of the Arab kingdom. Moreover, the revelations came hours after the company signed deals worth $25 billion for various investments in natural gas projects. These investments are aimed at expanding the main gas network and developing the second phase of the Al Jafurah gas field.

In the eastern region of the country, two unconventional oil fields have been discovered: the first in "Ladam-2", with a capacity of 5100 barrels per day and 4.9 million barrels of natural gas per day, and the second in the "Al Faruk-4" well, which will to produce 4557 barrels of oil and 3.79 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. Another discovery was made in the "Mazaliy-62" well, producing 1780 barrels of light oil per day and 'only'... 0.7 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. These oil discoveries came just as the kingdom announced it was raising its investments to produce more oil, given the current demand and global situation.

The Rub al-Khali desert is one of the largest sand deserts in the world, which is part of the greater Arabian desert. Administratively, it comprises most of the southern third of the Arabian Peninsula, between Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Its size is about 650,000 square kilometers.

It was noted that a new natural gas extraction point was discovered from the "Al Katuf-1" well, with the potential to produce 7.6 million cubic meters of natural gas per day and another 4.9 million cubic meters of natural gas per day at the well. Asikra-6', both also located in Rub al Jali.

Saudi Arabia has been trying for years to diversify its economy, which is heavily dependent on oil, and is looking for new ways to produce energy, especially those related to natural gas and hydrogen.
