Trump's tariffs, Von Der Leyen: A deal is a deal, but we are ready for all scenarios

"The European Union is 'ready for all scenarios,'" declared European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Her statement comes after the US threatened an additional 25% tariff on vehicles imported from the EU.

" A deal is a deal ," she stressed during a press conference in Yerevan, referring to the trade agreement between the EU and the Trump administration, which was concluded in July and capped customs tariffs on European vehicles sold in the United States at 15%.

On Friday, Donald Trump threatened the European bloc with new additional customs tariffs on cars and trucks exported to the United States, accusing the EU of not respecting the trade agreement signed between the two sides of the Atlantic.
