Donald Trump threatens to "wipe Iran off the face of the earth"

Donald Trump told Fox News that Iran would be "wiped off the face of the earth" if it attacked US ships carrying out "Project Freedom" in the Strait of Hormuz.

The US president said he believes Iran has become "much more amenable" to peace negotiations and stressed that US military buildup in the region is continuing.

"We have more weapons and ammunition at a much higher level than before," Trump told Fox News reporter Trey Yingst.

"We have the best equipment. We have stuff all over the world. We have bases all over the world. They're all equipped with weapons and equipment.

"We can use all of these and we will use them, if necessary," he said.
