Explosion during an Islamic political rally in Pakistan, reports 35 dead and 200

At least 35 people were killed and 200 others were injured in an explosion in Pakistan during a rally organized by an Islamic party.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and have warned that the death toll is likely to rise further. A rescue operation to help the injured is ongoing and police have yet to confirm the cause of the explosion.

Footage broadcast on local television shows ambulances transporting injured people to hospitals in the Pakistani tribal district of Bajaur, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near the border with Afghanistan.
