The US claims that the war with Iran is over and that it has achieved victory

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated his claim on Wednesday that the war with Iran is over and that the United States has achieved victory.

In a debate with Democratic Representative Sara Jacobs, Rubio was asked about his assessment of the war. Rubio, who would not describe the US military strike as a “war,” said it was a military operation that is over.

"We are no longer conducting sustained attacks inside Iran to degrade their military, because Epic Fury is over," he said.

“The second point, as far as the question of who won, I can tell you this: We define victory. We define victory as destroying their defense industrial base, significantly reducing the number of missile launchers they possess, significantly reducing their drone stockpile, and we achieved all of that, in addition to destroying what was left of an air force and wiping out their entire conventional navy,” he said.

Rubio was asked about reported intelligence assessments that Iran is rebuilding its military-industrial base faster than expected, as well as the loss of American service members and the survival of the Iranian regime.

Rubio claimed he was unaware of the reported intelligence assessments and argued that people manipulate intelligence and analysis to further a narrative. He said the regime was deeply divided and the Iranian economy was faltering.
