There seems to be an uneasy situation between Russia and Serbia, reflected in a peripheral but fundamental measure such as the visa regime for citizens of both countries.

Serbian opposition media report that the Russian president's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, has warned that any move by the Serbian government to end the visa-free travel regime with Russia will receive a reciprocal response.

The news was first reported by the Russian newspaper "Izvestia", according to which there are debates in Serbia about anti-Russian measures, including the end of visa-free travel as part of the country's alignment with European Union policy.
