US and Israel attack Iran, Trump: We are defending our people
Donald Trump

President Donald Trump confirmed in a video posted on social media that the United States has launched a military campaign in Iran.

"Our objective is to protect the American people by eliminating the immediate threat from the Iranian regime, a very vicious and terrifying group of people," the president said in the video.

"His threatening activities directly endanger the United States, our troops, our bases overseas, and our allies around the world," he said in the 8-minute message.

"For 47 years, the Iranian regime has chanted 'Death to America' and waged an endless campaign of bloodshed and mass murder, targeting the United States, our troops, and innocent people in many countries," he concluded.
