Donald Trump's message: I don't want to hit Iran, but sometimes I have

US President Donald Trump stated that the United States may be "forced" to take military action against Iran, although he stressed that this is not his first choice.

Asked by reporters about the possibility of using force, Trump said: "I don't want to do it, but sometimes I have to."

The statement was made before his departure from the White House for a trip to Texas.

He also added that further talks regarding Iran are expected on Friday, signaling that diplomatic channels remain open.

However, Trump reiterated his red line: Iran "cannot have nuclear weapons."

The statements come at a time of heightened tension in the region, as the US has increased its military presence in the Middle East.
