Israeli attacks on Tehran, CNN: US also involved

Israel's attack on Iran was coordinated with the United States, an Israeli source told CNN.

US officials believe Israel's attack on Iran could be "much more extensive" than the US strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities last June.

The attack was carried out “to remove threats,” according to a statement from Katz. The statement added that a “state of emergency has been declared throughout Israel.”

According to reports, the first apparent attack occurred near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

A cloud of smoke was seen rising from the city center and three explosions were reportedly heard in central Tehran, Iranian media reported.

It was not immediately clear what the target was, but the attack comes as the United States has assembled a large fleet of fighter jets and warships in the region to try to pressure Iran into a deal over its nuclear program.
