Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, currently Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, has conveyed, through an article published on RT, the main strategic concerns of his country today.

Medvedev writes that since February 2022, what he calls a "military counter-special operation" is being carried out in Europe, which means that an action plan is being implemented against what Russia launched in Ukraine.

Medvedev goes further when he expands the analysis and assesses that Germany's remilitarization aims to repeat June 22, 1941.

"In light of Germany's militarization, Russia should keep forces on military alert on its western border," Medvedev was quoted as saying.

According to him, the current actions of the German government threaten the security of Central and Eastern Europe and the continent itself.

"Do not feed yourself the idea that the German establishment will consider itself bound by a piece of paper even if a new treaty on new European security principles is concluded," he writes.

Medvedev goes even further when he speaks of "a clear signal to the German elites" that the worst-case scenario is mutual destruction, in light of which he sees the end of the history of European civilization and the continued existence of Russia.

The tension noted in this article is related to the relocation of the American arsenal from Europe and the transfer of the relevant American units under German administration, which, according to the former Russian president, "will disrupt the balance of power on the continent and provoke a direct Russian response."

Another provocative aspect is that towards Poland, for which Medvedev has underlined that there are two paths:

"Either a vassal of Germany, or a partner of Russia"
