Russia retaliates for Crimea attack, bombs Donjetsk, several civilians killed
Destroyed buildings in Ukraine

At least four people were killed and 34 others injured after Russian forces carried out rocket attacks in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk.

The regional governor, Vadym Filashkin, said two Iskander-M-type missiles destroyed a house and damaged 16 others in the town of Pokrovski.

"This is one of the biggest attacks on civilians that have been carried out in the past. The full consequences of it will be determined later," Filashkin said, adding that among the wounded there are children.

Russia has launched an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine in February 2024. Since then, Moscow's military has attacked Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons including drones and missiles.
