US President  Donald Trump has given his first reaction to the accidental leak of US military intelligence to Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg .

Trump told US media that Goldberg was "a disgrace" and that his presence on the "Signal" chain had "no impact at all ."

Asked how he was added to the conversation, Trump said it was one of Mike Waltz's employees who had his number there.

When asked if he still had faith in Waltz, Trump affirmed and said that " Michael Waltz has learned a lesson and he is a good man ."

He expressed confidence in his team and supported comments by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that this is not fundamentally an issue.

Trump said that this situation was the only glitch in two months and it was nothing serious.
