The Belgian police have arrested 7 people today in Belgium, as they are suspected of organizing a terrorist attack. It is suspected that they intended to attack NATO buildings.
The suspects had discussed several scenarios for an attack in Belgium, but had not yet decided on a target, the Belgian police statement also said.
"There was talk of NATO buildings, but at the moment those plans didn't seem very concrete," a spokesman told Belgian newspaper De Standaard.
Almost all of the suspects are of Chechen origin, while three are also Belgian nationals and belong to a group of ardent Islamic State supporters, according to the prosecutor's statement.
An investigating judge will decide at a later stage whether the suspects will be brought before the court.
