Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel turns detective in a German TV movie, which will start airing on March 21. The private television Rtl will broadcast "Miss Merkel - A criminal case in Uckermark", the protagonist of which is hypothetically Angela Merkel, who after retirement has become a sharp investigator modeled on Agatha Christie's Miss Marple.
In the role of the former chancellor is the 69-year-old German actress Katharina Thalbach.
The TV movie is based on the "Miss Merkel" book series by author David Safier. In the first TV story, the character inspired by the former chancellor settles in the Uckermark district in northeastern Germany to live with her husband and a dog named Helmut. Being upset, Detective Merkel will begin to investigate a mysterious murder.

David Safier, the writer from whose books the film is inspired, has created from Angela Merkel, whom we all know, a kind of fairy tale figure, a mixture between the former chancellor and a pensioner, who transforms into Miss Marple. An action that for many can be considered dangerous, given that it is about the most important and influential political woman in German history.
