On the 4th of July, Americans celebrate their country's Independence Day in a variety of ways, from attending fireworks displays to parading their animals and showing off classic cars.
The celebrations commemorate the July 4, 1776 adoption of the Declaration of Independence at a meeting of the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia. The unanimous decision separated America's original 13 colonies from British rule after years of unrest that had turned into armed conflict.
"Happy Independence Day USA! The holiday honors the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Every year on this day, the American people enjoy celebrations, fireworks, and the company of friends and family. We wish you all a Happy 4th of July!", wishes the American embassy in Tirana.

July 4th also marks the peak of summer fun, with some holidays dating back decades.
At Washington Historic Park in Pennsylvania, classic car owners pay tribute to the four countries that participated in the American Revolutionary War (1775–1783) with a display of automotive engineering from the United States, Great Britain, France and Germany.
The Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show features cars from the 1999 model years and earlier. Proceeds fund historical and educational programs.

Some states feature animal parades, ranging from dogs to goats. The Bend Pet Parade draws 8,000 to 10,000 people each year. It has been held annually since 1924 and was only stopped during World War II and the COVID-19 pandemic.
